woolfelt, 180 x 120 cm
People on the run have always been there. The continuous and growing number of people on the run to Europe is something of recent years and it seems that Europe can do nothing but find good solutions to offer them a new home. Not only out of humanitarian duty, but also for personal gain, since Europe is otherwise going under as a result of its own ageing. The routes people on the run have to travel are long and dangerous, often over mountains such as the Dinarien Alps near Trieste or The Hindu Kush between Afghanistan and Pakistan, often at night.
“Mountains I” is made of layers of wool felt sewn together, color 12, ochre, size: 77 x 61 cm. Part of the collection of art works in the solo show ‘Collateral Damage’ in Gallery Untitled Rotterdam, October the 15th 2023 – January th 7th 2024
