HERBARIUM opening

Friday January the 23th the solo show HERBARIUM was opened in The Natuurhistorsch Museum Rotterdam.
The Museum has commissioned us to make a ne collection of art works inspired by the data base of the Herbarium of the museum. We have done research on all the species of the city of Rotterdam (part of Buro Stadsnatuur) that art extinct or almost extinct. We’ve chosen eighteen species and transformed them in a collection of eighteen wool felt art works, five embroidery works and four watercolors, all presented as museum cassettes behind museum glass.

The opening was performed by the director of the museum, Meike Moors, the head of Buro Stadsnatuur, Niels de Zwarte and Rianne Groen, the curator modern art of CODA Museum Apeldoorn who was invited because of the connection in content with her recently opened show “De paddenstoel aan het einde van de wereld”.
All speakers were very inspired by the HERBARIUM collection and expressed their thought with great enthousiasme and very intelligent connection with their own professions.

HERBARIUM will be on show until May 24th 2026, Tue.- Sun. 11.00 – 17.00 hours

In the same period Gallery Untitled presents an earlier collection HERBARIUM works and the solo show VERZWINDEN, a new collection of UV-Sunlight enlighten works about all kinds of nature and people disappearing because of human causes.

This project has been made possible with the support of Het Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam, Gallery Untitled, Iza van den Baar and CBK Rotterdam
