Desert I

People on the run have always been there. The continuous and growing number of people on the run to Europe is something of recent years and it seems that Europe can do nothing but find good solutions to offer them a new home. Not only out of humanitarian duty, but also for personal gain, since Europe is otherwise going under as a result of its own ageing. The routes people on the run have to travel are long and dangerous, often through deserts such as the Sahara in North Africa or the Dasht e lut in Iran, often at night.
“Desert” is made of layers of wool felt sewn together, color 12, ochre, size: 77 x 61 cm
