Trace is an ongoing series of works inspired by the growing collection of photos of waste in the streets of Rotterdam South. The waste is the final trace of people who’ve lived in these neighborhoods but had to leave to start a new life somewhere else after loosing their permit, job or house.
Trace is a series made in different techniques such as epoxy resin, wool felt and other materials.

The paintings have been developed in epoxy resin, a strong two component resin, colored by pigments. The epoxy resin is so strong that it doesn’t need a support, like canvas or wood.
The outline of the paintings is determined by the resin itself. The resin is used like an aquarelle technique, transparency and the flowing of pigments is an important part of the painting procedure.
